Farming

Steglinge farms over 600 hectares under its own management and has been farming for generations. That's why we know everything about farming and pay attention to every detail along the way. This applies to everything from crop scouting to the actual cultivation, harvesting and various storage techniques to get the most out of each harvest to extend the seasons. We also have unique collaborations with a number of growers around Kulla Bay, around Skåne, towards Blekinge, Halland and up in the country. We work exclusively with trusted and reputable growers who share our values and our long collaborations are based on mutual respect for each other and for the craft. This creates the best conditions where the result is early, high-quality and sustainable harvests.

To meet market needs throughout the year, we Steglinge farm work hard to ensure year-round availability of raw materials. Through close partnerships with growers around the world, we ensure that we receive first-class produce throughout the year. We handpick our raw materials from trusted partners with whom we have had long-standing relationships and who can meet our high standards of availability, quality and sustainability, all at reasonable prices.

Washing

The root vegetables that come to us directly from cultivation are carefully washed in our modern washing department, which is linked to our own water treatment plant. A large majority of the water used at Steglinge is purified by our own treatment plant, which is a fantastic resource to have available, not least from a sustainability perspective. Read more about our sustainability work by clicking here. After washing and size sorting, the raw materials are usually cooled down before going through an optical camera that performs further sorting based on quality and size. The raw materials then go into production for packaging or processing of some kind.

Packaging

From once having packed greens and vegetables for Kullabygden's entrepreneurs and sellers, today Steglinge farm packs and crops for a lot of customers from a variety of fields and markets spread throughout our Sweden. We pack under private label but also under our own brand and have a plethora of different solutions to meet the world's demands for quality, food safety and sustainability. Our packaging departments are largely automated, making the process resource-efficient and gentle.

Peeling

In our peeling plant, raw materials are peeled using different peeling methods. Raw materials that are peeled are potatoes, carrots and beets in different varieties, shapes and sizes. Peeled raw materials can go directly to external distribution, for example to facilitate commercial kitchens and restaurants. Otherwise, they go to other departments within Steglinge where they are further processed, for example by pre-cooking, pickling, preparing or cutting them into a suitable size before they leave the farm. The peel goes to animal feed.

Pre-cooking

With the latest technological equipment and in modern and resource-efficient autoclaves, raw materials such as potatoes, beets and legumes are pre-cooked for many of the Nordic region's major players. The pre-cooked segment is constantly growing and here Steglinge is a major player in the market where we provide several different items to, among others, commercial kitchens, municipal operations, food service and retail.

prep

Steglinge has been processing raw materials for decades. In sterile environments and with the best equipment, we scratch, slice, dice, pickle, mix and prepare raw materials for different customers and for different needs. We are big in the convenience segment and items from here can end up in your convenience store, in your salad bar, at the nearest fast food chain or in your grocery bag. We handle the market's demands for different cuts and have always been at the forefront when it comes to different recipes and methods.

Ripening

Ripening produce is a craft in itself. At Steglinge , we have been ripening produce such as avocados and mangoes for a number of large customers for over ten years.
