We are looking for a senior and operational Quality Controller who wants to be part of taking our quality assurance to the next level. With us, you will work in the heart of a high-intensity FMCG business where raw materials move fast and decisions are made even faster. You will be a key person in ensuring that the right quality reaches our production - every day.

About the role
As Senior Quality Controller, you will have overall responsibility for building, leading and developing our QC work. The role is both strategic and operational: you work practically with arrival checks, measurements and documentation, while building routines, ensuring compliance and leading the daily work of the QC team. You will report to the Quality Manager.

You work very closely with the purchasing department, where you are responsible for producing decision-making documentation, deviation documentation and clear quality reports. The buyers are responsible for the dialog with the suppliers - but you are the engine that ensures facts, structure and quality in that documentation.

Your main tasks will be

• Ensure the quality of incoming raw materials in real time
• Perform and further develop QC checks (visual assessment, defects, temperature, weighing, underweight, etc.)
• Documenting deviations and creating clear reports for purchasing
• Produce credit documentation and fact-based deviation data (purchasing takes the dialog with the supplier)
• Build, improve and ensure compliance with our QC procedures
• Define which products are to be QC checked, to what extent and at which arrivals
• Train, guide and drive our QC team in their daily work
• Be an early warning system against production when raw materials are not up to standard
• Adapt QC requirements according to season, harvest and shortage situations - balancing quality with production needs

Who we are looking for

• Experience in QC work in fresh produce, food, fruit & veg or FMCG
• A natural poise and ability to stand up for quality
• At the same time, a pragmatic understanding of reality: seasons, shortage periods and market variation
• High level of structure, order and documentation skills
• Experience in implementing procedures - and getting others to follow them
• An ability to engage and lead others in operations
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in creating clear decision-making bases
