Drought and otherwise unfavorable weather conditions have had their impact on last year's crops.

In an article from June 2023, SLU stated that the situation for Swedish farmers was serious in Sweden because the season started late and the drought that followed had a negative impact on sowing. Unfortunately, weather conditions during the fall, with rain in droves and early frosts that lingered, made things even more challenging. We at Steglinge are one of many producers who recognize ourselves in the picture that SLU conveys and see harvest reductions, especially in root crops. With various methods to maximize our crops, we have managed to extend the season, but also see that the season will end earlier than we hoped.

We are currently in the midst of a new crop planning process where we are working on various fronts to protect ourselves as best we can against weather, wind and external influences. Through our long experience of farming, we use different strategies to, for example, balance the supply of nutrients according to weather conditions and are well equipped for harvest in 2024.
