Developed by the British Retail Consortium (BRC), the BRC Food (British Retail Consortium Food Safety Standard) is a set standard for international quality and product safety approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
This standard includes high-level criteria for quality, safety and operations, and ensures that manufacturers meet their legal obligations and protect end customers. Today, the BRC Food Safety System standard is a basic requirement for leading retailers, food producers and caterers around the world. Many of the major Swedish food chains are now seeking BRC certification.
